This coin is the first in a series dedicated to the four regions of Latvia. Vidzeme in the north east of Latvia, is the first of these regions.

In the middle of the inner circle is the coat of arms of Vidzeme, a lion facing left and bearing a sword.

At the top of the inner circle is the name of the issuing country LATVIJA , at the bottom VIDZEME and at four o’clock the year of issue 2016.
